I've been hearing a lot of good things lately about lighttpd, the very small and simple open source web server. So I decided today to check out its Web site and see what the buzz was about.

I checked this out earlier today and it was responding. Guess they got real popular today and it knocked their server offline? Can't say that bodes well for actually using it, but I did see claims that it was able to handle 4x more traffic than apache on the same machine.
